AVON PARK – Two people have been charged in connection with the death of a 3-month-old girl in Avon Park.
The child’s mother, 28-year-old Sabrina Denise Watson, has been charged with negligent manslaughter of a child, two counts of child neglect, possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug equipment. Gwendolyn L. Wyche, 49, who had legal guardianship of the baby, has been charged with child neglect.
Deputies and EMS were called to a home on Lake Avenue in Avon Park the morning of May 4 due to the baby being unresponsive. She was pronounced dead at the hospital at 7:25 a.m.
