MAN ARRESTED IN PAISLEY AFTER ASKING DEPUTY TO TEST HIS ILLEGAL DRUGS

On August 27, 2024, a Lake County deputy was patrolling in the Paisley area when a victim flagged him down. The victim pointed the deputy in the direction of the defendant, Timothy Gunter, who they stated just burglarized their home with family members inside. The deputy located the defendant, who matched the description given by the victim. The defendant spontaneously uttered that he just received some “bad” narcotics and produced a plastic baggie containing a clear crystal-like substance. The defendant then informed the deputy that something was wrong with the drugs he just received and requested the drugs to be tested. The defendant also admitted entering the victim’s residence because he could hear dogs barking inside. The victim provided video evidence of the defendant looking into the victim’s window after he broke down the door to the screen porch and proceeded into the residence. The crystal-like substance produced by the defendant tested positive for methamphetamine. The victim of the occupied residential burglary desired prosecution, and the defendant was transported to the Lake County Jail.
