Miami Gardens, FL – The Webber International Softball team wrapped up their season with a doubleheader against Florida Memorial. After Webber took game one of the series of Friday, the Lions took games two and three to secure the series.
The Lions struck first, scoring three runs by the third inning. The Warriors responded with a Johnkiria Bland RBI double in the top of the 4th inning.
The Lions then scored six more runs to take game one 9-1.
Webber bounced back with a run off the bat of Brandy Barquin in the top of the first inning. The Lions responded with a run of their own in the bottom of the first. The Warriors’ defense held strong, until an error by WIU allowed the Lions to score in the bottom of the 5th inning.
While the Warriors got three batters on base through the next two innings, they were unable to score as the Lions took game one 2-1.
The Warriors will end the season with an incredible improvement, winning eight more games, as Webber ends with a 22-28 record.
