On Saturday, December 10, 2022, 43-year old Pedro Ramirez of Lakeland was fatally injured in a hit & run crash in the area of US 98 South and Innovation Drive in south Lakeland.
Mr. Ramirez was found lying on the east shoulder of the roadway near Oak Hill Cemetery.
PCSO Traffic Homicide detectives believe he was walking north, and was struck from behind by a northbound vehicle, sometime between midnight and 7:00 am.
Evidence recovered at the scene indicated that the suspect’s vehicle may have been a late 90s or early 2000s GM pickup truck or large SUV. The vehicle would have sustained damage to the right front mirror, the front bumper/grill area, and right headlight.
