Public Information Officer / Media Relations / Social Media Content Creator
The Public Information Officer (PIO) is responsible for disseminating information of general and newsworthy interest to the news media, holding news conferences, writing articles for publication, and other tasks instrumental to keeping the public informed. The PIO is also a key content creator for the Polk County Sheriff’s Office website and all social media platforms.
The position includes a take-home vehicle.
Pay range: $64,815 to $88,336
Deputy Sheriff / Detention Deputy
We are offering paid academy scholarships, hiring bonuses, moving expenses, and other incentives, for eligible deputy sheriff or detention deputy applicants!
Pay range: $61,158 to $77,810
Fleet Technician
The Fleet technician performs automotive maintenance and repair on agency vehicles and equipment, auto body damage repair, installation and removal of decals, welding, etc.
Pay range: $44,175 to $60.206
