Webber Warriors Fall to Undefeated Bees in Savannah

Savannah, GA – The Webber International women’s soccer team weathered the incoming storms from the south and traveled up north to take on the SCAD-Savannah Bees on Wednesday evening. The Bees, one of the best teams in the country, continued on their undefeated path in the Sun Conference, taking down the Warriors 5-0.

The Bees would be quick with their offensive attack on Wednesday, opening up the scoring early in the 11th minute with Abigail Sidall scoring her seventh goal of the season, assisted by Ines Sommer. The Warriors looking to quickly strike back saw Essie Diaz take her chance at goal but the Bees keeper was there to make the save. Just 10 minutes later the Bees added another goal to their tally from Sydney Chura, assisted by Sommer again. The Warriors would record two more shots in the first half from MaKenzee Feskanin and Melissa Del Valle but unable to find the back of the net, they would go into halftime down 2-0.

The beginning of the second half brought encouraging signs from the Warriors as they battled hard to stay in the game. Julianna Grider would make a save in the 50th minute and record 12 total on the day. Ella Campbell would get a shot off in the 57th minute before it was saved by the Bees keeper. After playing a solid 20 minutes of competitive back and forth play the Bees would break through for their third and fourth goals of the day in consecutive minutes, 67th and 68th to put any hope of a comeback to rest. The Bees would add on one more goal in the 77th minute to conclude the matches scoring and bringing the game to a close at a 5-0 defeat for the Warriors in Savannah, GA.

The Warriors will have a slight break before their match on October 5th down in West Palm Beach, FL against Keiser University at 12:00 PM.
