This is an important message from the Polk County Sheriff’s Office Animal Control Section advising residents that on July 20th a cat was impounded from the 2700 block of Avenue T NW in Winter Haven. On July 23rd, the cat tested positive for rabies from the State Laboratory in Tampa. Please ensure your pets are currently vaccinated for rabies, and report any suspicious acting animals you encounter to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office Animal Control Section at 863-577-1762.
