Heat index

#DYK the Heat Index combines temperature and humidity to give you a true feel of how hot it is outside?

A Heat Advisory may be issued if the Heat Index is expected to be 100 degrees or higher for at least 2 days, and the nighttime temperature is expected to be 75 degrees or higher. An Excessive Heat Warning may be issued if the Heat Index is expected to be 105 degrees or higher for at least 2 days, and the nighttime temperature is expected to be 75 degrees or higher. Even if the heat index isn’t high enough for an advisory to be issued, it’s important to plan accordingly:

Limit time outside, especially work activities

Drink lots of water and maintain access to cool areas

Know the signs of heat-related illness and be ready to assist someone who may be in need

Stay cool and #BeatTheHeatOsceola this summer!
