Construction of the new Florida Medal of Honor Memorial is in the home stretch, with the opening ceremonies scheduled for 10 a.m. on Patriots Day, Sept. 11, 2024.
Many local businesses have donated supplies and expertise to help this project come together, including the Highlands County Sheriff’s Office. Today, an inmate work crew is busy helping get the grounds ready for irrigation installation to the landscaping can begin.
