The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is conducting a death investigation after an inmate died.
On April 30, 2025, at 5:25 a.m., Robert Anderson, 71, an inmate at Falkenburg Road Jail, was awaiting transport for a scheduled court appearance when he suffered a medical event. Deputies and nursing staff immediately rendered aid before he was transported to a local hospital.
After arrival at the hospital, he was pronounced deceased at 7:33 a.m.
The Medical Examiner’s Office will determine his cause of death. Anderson’s next of kin has been notified.
The investigation is ongoing. The Public Affairs Office will release any further updates.
