Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) has launched safety and operational enhancements on State Road (S.R.) 19

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) has launched safety and operational enhancements on State Road (S.R.) 19, from north of Stevens Avenue to County Road 452 in Eustis. The projects ( 445297-1 and 445686-1 ) involve the resurfacing of the northbound and southbound lanes on State Road (S.R.) 19, also known as Grove Street and Bay Street.
Due to Hurricane Milton, the intersection closures for last week were canceled. Here is the schedule for next week. Beginning on October 20, there will be overnight intersection closures along both southbound and northbound S.R. 19, though only one intersection at one time each night. The following closures are scheduled for Oct. 20-26.

Overnight Monday

  • 8 p.m. on Monday, October 21, through 7 a.m. Tuesday, October 22: The southbound intersection of S.R. 19 (Bay Street) at East Clifford/Ferran Park Drive will be closed for milling and resurfacing of that intersection).
    Detour information: The detour will be clearly marked with signs. Southbound motorists should take a left on Gottsche Avenue, right on Eustis Street, right on McDonald Avenue and a left back on U.S. 19..

  • 8 p.m. on Tuesday, October 22, through 7 a.m. Wednesday, October 23: The southbound intersection of S.R. 19 (Bay Street) at McDonald Avenue will be closed for milling and resurfacing of that intersection.
    Detour information: The detour will be clearly marked with signs. Southbound motorists should take a left on Clifford Avenue, right on Eustis Street, right on Magnolia Avenue and a left back on U.S. 19.
    Overnight Wednesday
  • 8 p.m. on Wednesday, October 23, through 7 a.m. Thursday, October 24: The southbound intersection of S.R. 19 (Bay Street) at Magnolia Avenue will be closed for milling and resurfacing of that intersection.
    Detour information: The detour will be clearly marked with signs. Southbound motorists should take a left on McDonald Avenue, right on Eustis Street, right on Orange Avenue and a left back on U.S. 19.

  • 9 p.m. on Thursday, October 24, through 7 a.m. Friday, October 25: The northbound intersection of S.R. 19 (Grove Street) at Magnolia Avenue will be closed for milling and resurfacing of that intersection.
    Detour information: The detour will be clearly marked with signs. Northbound motorists should take a left on Orange Avenue, right on Eustis Street, right on McDonald Avenue and a left back on U.S. 19.

  • 9 p.m. on Sunday, October 27, through 7 a.m. Monday, October 28: The northbound intersection of S.R. 19 (Grove Street) at Gottsche Avenue will be closed for milling and resurfacing of that intersection.
    Detour information: The detour will be clearly marked with signs. Northbound motorists should take a left on Clifford Avenue, right on Eustis Street, right on Hazzard Avenue and a left back on U.S. 19.
