Get ready for a day full of excitement, exploration, and hands-on fun at Hands on Haven! This family-friendly event brings the Winter Haven community together for a unique, interactive experience featuring the ever-popular Touch-A-Truck and so much more!

Key Activities

• Touch-A-Truck: Explore an incredible variety of vehicles, from the newest garbage truck to fire trucks, police vehicles, heavy equipment, and even airplanes and the Tampa General helicopter! Kids and adults alike will love the chance to climb aboard, honk horns, and interact with the experts behind these machines.
• Interactive Demos Every 30 Minutes: Check out exciting demos like the K9 unit, a thrilling extrication demonstration, and fun contests like hula hoop and dance-offs!
• Hands-On Displays: Experience the thrill of being a firefighter with a Fire Course, navigate an obstacle course, explore urban forestry and litter control stations, participate in lawn games and contests, attend a storytime, and so much more!
• CSI & Public Safety Exhibits: Dive into the world of crime scene investigation, try out obstacle courses, and see the latest from the Winter Haven CSI van, patrol vehicles, and even ambulance rescues.
• New Technology: See a robotic field striper, experience augmented reality, and learn about all the innovative solutions being used every day throughout the City.

Family Fun

• Story Time & Crafts: The Winter Haven Library is bringing robots, tech, and stories to keep young minds engaged inside the terminal.
• Games Area: Enjoy planned and interactive games, plus a few fun contests for some light competition.
• Music & Emcee: Our very own Deputy Police Chief Vance Monroe will emcee the event, sure to make the day interactive and fun!
• Dunk Tank: Watch your favorite City leaders get dunked! All proceeds support the Aspiring Aviators Club.

Giveaways & Contests

• You’ll find fun giveaway items throughout the event – be sure to pick up a recycling-themed bag to collect your goodies!
• Coloring Contest Winners and Photo Contest Finalists will be displayed, and we’ll crown the best in various categories.

Stay Cool & Hydrated

• Free bottled water will be available near the terminal entrance.

Food & Refreshments

• Grab delicious bites from a variety of food trucks or head to the Flightline Café in the terminal for a meal with a view!

Parking:

• Parking will be located in the grassy field west of the terminal. The Winter Haven Police Explorers will be on hand to guide you to your spot.
