Polk County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested 54 people for Driving Under the Influence of alcohol and/or drugs in June.
Out of these 54 arrests, 13 were crash-related.
One of the people arrested was charged with DUI manslaughter with two counts of causing serious bodily injury.
Two of these people had a child with them when they were driving impaired.
One of the arrested was one of our own deputies, with an emphasis on the word “was.”
And two people are here in the United States illegally, and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has been notified.
These 54 arrests were PCSO arrests only, and do not include arrests in Polk County made by any of the city police departments or the Florida Highway Patrol.
