It was a special night at the Highlands County Fair.
Emily Tharp decided she wanted the proceeds from the sale of her hog to go to the families of Kaidence Ruelas (her cousin) and Bo Ward, the two Lake Placid High School students who tragically lost their lives in a car accident last weekend.
It should come as no surprise that the Highlands County community rallied behind this cause and donated enough that the hog sold for $60,000.
