The Auburndale Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred at approximately 4:00 P.M. on May 5th, 2024, near 3016 Reiter Drive in Auburndale, FL. Law enforcement was dispatched at approximately 4:01 P.M. to a shooting near the incident location.
Upon arrival, officers located a White male, approximately 27 years of age, inside a blue 2022 Chrysler Pacifica who had sustained a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to Lakeland Regional Medical Center where he succumbed to his injuries.
The current investigation indicates the shooting appears to be an isolated incident; however, the Auburndale Police Department is urging citizens to exercise caution and report any unusual or suspicious behavior to law enforcement immediately as the suspect(s) are still at large. An updated press release will be sent as more information is available.
