On January 16, 2025, a Lake County K9 deputy was proactively patrolling in the area of Lake Louisa Rd., Clermont, when he observed a vehicle parked on the road right of way with no license plate and severe front-end damage. Standing next to the vehicle, the deputy observed a male, later identified as Johnny Sizemore, who appeared frantic and confused while pacing back and forth. Upon sight of the deputy’s marked patrol vehicle, the defendant attempted to walk in the opposite direction. Due to the defendant’s actions being suspicious in nature and the possibility that he could be leaving the scene of an accident or the vehicle being stolen, the deputy approached the defendant to ascertain more information. The deputy immediately observed the defendant shaking as he paced back and forth. The defendant then attempted to walk away and was given commands to stop. The defendant continued to walk away after briefly bending down behind the bushes. After refusing to follow commands and the deputy not knowing if the defendant was armed, the deputy deployed his agency-issued taser to gain compliance with positive results. The defendant was then taken into custody without further incident.
In the defendant’s possession was a clear crystal-like substance that field tested positive for Methamphetamine and a gray powder that tested positive for Fentanyl. The Methamphetamine weighed approximately 8.4 grams, and the Fentanyl weighed approximately 16.2 grams, which is a trafficking amount. He also had a scale and a glass smoking device on his person that he advised he uses to smoke crystal methamphetamine.
The defendant was transported to the Lake County Jail and charged accordingly.
