At approximately 5:41 am on June 9, 2024, police were called to a home on North Ivanhoe Blvd regarding a shooting incident.
Two male transients spotted a victim leaving his residence when they approached him demanding his vehicle and belongings at gunpoint. The victim attempted to go back into his house when he was shot by one of the suspects. The victim (adult W/M) was transported by OFD to an area hospital in stable condition.
Patrol was able to apprehend both suspects who have been identified as Kenny C Mason 2/22/00 B/M and James T. Houston 10/13/98 B/M. They are in custody facing numerous charges to include burglary, robbery, and/ or aggravated battery/attempted murder.
It is believed they were in the area attempting multiple vehicle burglaries where they were able to retrieve a firearm in an unlocked car. This was the firearm used to shoot the victim.
This is an ongoing investigation.
