A Polk County business is truly raising the roof for our educators this year.
In the wake of Hurricane Milton, Lakeland-based Musick Roofing reached out to offer support for PCPS employees. The company decided to completely replace damaged roofs, at no charge, for five school-based employees across the district.
After reviewing applications and inspecting finalists’ roofs, the winners were announced during surprise visits yesterday. Congratulations to:
- Cora Rankins, a teacher from Socrum Elementary
- Charlene Smith, a teacher from Spessard Holland Elementary
- Jennifer Sweeney, a paraeducator from Davenport Elementary
- Tanya Tolar, a paraeducator from Lewis Anna Woodbury Elementary
- Cassandra Willis, a teacher from Caldwell Elementary
This gift will make a tremendous difference for these employees. Thank you so much to the Musick Roofing team, especially President Mike Musick, whose father was an educator for more than 50 years.
