Auburndale Police Arrest Russell Anthony Carroll for Grand Theft; Investigation into Tonya Whipp’s Disappearance Continues

The Auburndale Police Department, in conjunction with FDLE agents, arrested Russell Anthony Carroll on charges of grand theft and unlawful use of personal identification information. Through their investigation, detectives determined that over a period of time, Russell Carroll unlawfully accessed Tonya Whipp’s financial accounts and redirected her money to himself on multiple occasions.

At this time, no charges have been filed directly relating to Tonya’s disappearance. The investigation by law enforcement into her whereabouts is ongoing. An updated news release will be sent as more information is available.

The Auburndale Police Department is urging anyone with information related to the Tonya Whipp case to contact Detective Chris Wall at (863) 965-5555 or to remain anonymous and be eligible for a cash reward of $3,000 from Crime Stoppers and $1,000 from an anonymous donor, total cash reward of $4,000.
