Polk State Sophomores Shine On Sophomore Day In Easy Victory For Polk State Soccer

Polk State Soccer celebrated Sophomore Day on Saturday with a season-high for goals scored in a 6-1 win over Millennia Atlantic University.

Fittingly, it was the sophomores who stole the show. Sophomores combined for five goals and three assists.

Noemi Casique recorded her first career hat trick. The three goals give her eight in her last four matches. She added two assists.

Dylan Fernandez and Madison Caustic, both All-Region 8 performers a year ago, each scored goals. Fernandez also recorded an assist. Zoe Torres was the lone freshman to find the net for the Eagles.

Polk State led 3-0 at halftime. The Parrots scored in the second half to break up what would have been Polk State’s third shutout in four matches.

With the victory, Polk State has now won consecutive matches for the first time this season.
