A first aid kit at hand is a very good thing to have so you are prepared for any emergencies that may come your way.
First aid kits can be purchased at your nearest drug store, or you can make your own first aid kit at home.
Below are some tips and reminders to help make sure you’re prepared.
First aid kit tips and reminders:
· Keep a first aid kit in your home and car.
· Find where your first aid kits are located at your workplace.
· Check expiration date of your items.
· Check kit regularly.
· Know basic first aid procedures (Minor wounds, burns, etc.)
· For serious injuries call 911 immediately.
· Apply pressure to a bleeding wound to slow the bleeding.
· For minor burns, run under lukewarm water.
Items to keep in your First Aid Kit:
· Cleaning supplies and bandages
· Gloves
· Hydrogen peroxide
· Gauze
· Bandage tape (adhesive)
· Antibiotic cream
· OTC Medications
· Tweezers & scissors
· Heat and cold packs
