West Palm Beach, FL – The Webber International Women’s Flag Football team competed against the Keiser Seahawks in the semifinals of the SUN Conference tournament. After jumping out to an early lead, the Warriors were unable to contain the Seahawks, falling 40-18.
The Warriors started the game by winning the opening coin toss, electing to defer. The Seahawks started with the ball and were unable to drive it past the 40-yard line, resulting in a four-play drive, giving Webber excellent field position. The first play for the Warriors resulted in a 28-yard touchdown pass from Samantha Wilson to Rylee Bolser. The first play of Keiser’s next drive was intercepted by Bolser, giving Webber momentum and field position. Wilson found Kaitlyn Sigmundi on second down before firing a pass to Jasmine Henry for the touchdown to give the Warriors a 12-0 lead. Keiser was able to drive down the field on their next drive, with Sigmundi, Cheyenne Durand and Bolser making a majority of the tackles. They were unable to keep the Seahawks out of the endzone as they cut the lead in half 12-6. The Warriors punted on their ensuing drive after failing to move the ball.
