A traffic stop by Tactical Anti-Crime team last night turned into a major drug seizure.
Around 11:23 p.m. on Jan. 8, a Chevy Silverado was pulled over near the intersection of US 27 and Flare Road in Sebring for speeding and failure to signal. During the course of the stop, K-9 Goose was on scene and alerted to the presence of narcotics in the vehicle.
A search of the truck turned up two baggies in the glove compartment that held 108.6 grams (3.83 ounces) of a white crystal substance that field tested positive for methamphetamine and fentanyl.
Catarino Dario Borjas-Moreno III, a 40-year-old from Avon Park, was arrested and charged with trafficking in methamphetamine, trafficking in fentanyl, possession of methamphetamine with intent to sell, possession of drug equipment and possession of a controlled substance.
