The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a seven-time convicted felon in Riverview.
On November 29, 2024, HCSO’s Street Crimes Unit conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of Balm Riverview Road and McMullen Loop.
With verbal consent to search the vehicle, deputies discovered methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, and a loaded Taurus 9mm firearm located at the feet of the front-seat passenger, David Lewis, 37.
Lewis, a seven-time convicted felon currently on felony probation for Driving While License Suspended or Revoked was arrested and charged with:
• Armed Possession of a Controlled Substance – Methamphetamine
• Felon in Possession of a Firearm
• Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
Lewis also faces a violation of his probation.
“This arrest highlights the importance of proactive policing in keeping dangerous individuals off our streets,” said Sheriff Chad Chronister. “Our deputies are committed to protecting our community and ensuring justice is served.”
