On June 12th, 2024, The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office Patrol responded to the area of 1983 Fortune Road (Ponderosa RV entrance) about a battery/traffic crash.
Upon arrival, they discovered a male subject lying on the ground near a spent casing. Deputies conducted lifesaving efforts until Fire Rescue arrived and transported the male to the hospital, where he was subsequently pronounced deceased. The suspect (Kevin Duda) was apprehended moments later in the nearby area. The investigation revealed the victim and suspect knew each other, and this was an isolated event.
Currently, the suspect is being held at the Osceola County Jail under an unrelated warrant. Further investigation, charges, and notification of the next of kin are pending.
