Osceola County Mosquito Control was unable to complete the scheduled aerial mosquito spraying

Due to weather conditions, Osceola County Mosquito Control was unable to complete the scheduled aerial mosquito spraying. The contractor will make another attempt this Saturday, September 21, between 8 p.m. and midnight, weather permitting.

The spray will cover approximately 75,000 acres, including areas such as Happy Trails, Westside, Reunion, Champion’s Gate, Intercession City, Windsor Hills, Indian Ridge, Four Corners, Poinciana, Southport, Narcoossee, Harmony, Bay Lake Estates, Ashton, Pine Grove, and Sunbridge.

Important reminders:

  1. Avoid going outdoors at dusk and dawn, when mosquitoes are most active.
  2. Dress in long sleeves and pants to cover exposed skin.
  3. Use mosquito repellents containing DEET, Picaridin, or oil of lemon eucalyptus.
  4. Dump any containers around your home that can collect water.
