Methamphetamine and Outstanding Warrant Arrest

On August 18, 2024, a Lake County deputy was actively patrolling the Okahumpka area when he located a suspicious vehicle parked behind a business and backed into the wood line. The deputy observed the male defendant, Leocadio Urrea, sleeping in the driver’s seat with the window down. When the deputy approached the vehicle to check the defendant’s well-being, they noticed a plastic baggy with a crystal-like substance in plain view. The defendant was detained and identified when it was determined that Urrea held two active warrants for his arrest related to a traffic violation and drug possession. The crystal-like substance field tested positive for methamphetamine, and Urrea was transported to the Lake County Jail.
