Bria started her career at the Lake County Sheriff’s Office in April of 1998 where she served in our jail as a detention deputy. While serving she was sworn in as dual sworn by Sheriff Knupp October of 1999. During her time at Lake County Jail, she worked in many areas such as booking, transportation, extradition, and finally classification prior to transferring to the South Lake District Office November of 2020 where she finished out her career.
During her time at the South Lake District Office, she assisted in planning events such as Project Kid Connect as well as handling walk-ins and fingerprinting services. Bria’s dedication and connections with Central Florida C.O.P.S. has been an asset to our agency, allowing us to have more insight into what helps survivors families.
She was recently promoted to President of Central Florida C.O.P.S. and will continue to be a volunteer with our agency, in which we are extremely grateful. Bria Brunson-Barry has one son, that she has sent off to college in the year 2024. She is now able to spend her retirement days going to countless lacrosse games and spending as much time as possible with him.
