On March 20, 2025, the Lake County Sheriff’s Office Special Investigations Bureau executed a search warrant at 43648 Cooter Pond Road Deland in reference to an ongoing narcotics investigation. The Lake County Sheriff’s Office SWAT Team, detectives from the Clermont, Eustis, Leesburg, and Mount Dora Police Departments, and Mid Florida SWAT assisted Lake County detectives. SWAT assisted in securing the residence and the four occupants without resistance. The Lake County Narcotics Detectives executed the search warrant and located methamphetamine, ammunition, and paraphernalia.
Michael Meintzer (04/27/1990) and Rebecca Nolan (06/27/1978) were arrested and transported to the Lake County Jail without incident.
Edwin Burch (05/01/1995) and Taylor Davis (07/14/2002) were issued misdemeanor citations for possession of drug paraphernalia and released on scene.
Members from the Criminal Investigations Bureau responded to the scene in reference to a 2024 Chevrolet Equinox located on the property. The vehicle appeared to be stolen and chopped, and the serial numbers had been ground away. CIB will be commencing an investigation on possible added charges of operating a chop shop.
