Osceola County, Florida – District 2 County Commissioner Viviana Janer was elected Chair of the Osceola County Board of County Commissioners on Monday, effective immediately. District 3 Commissioner Brandon Arrington is the new Vice Chair. Both votes were unanimous.
Viviana Janer, first elected to office in 2014, previously served as Chair of the County Commission in 2023, 2020 and 2016.
“I am truly honored to be chosen as Chair of the Board of County Commissioners for the fourth time,” said Janer. “I look forward to working with my fellow Commissioners to continue making Osceola County ‘Be First to What’s Next’ in the coming year.”
Janer succeeds District 4 Commissioner Cheryl Grieb, who served as the 2024 Chair.
The Chair’s duties include running commission meetings and heading ceremonial events like ribbon cuttings and groundbreakings, as well as delivering the annual State of Osceola County address, scheduled for September 4, 2025. The Vice Chair assumes those roles in the Chair’s absence.
“I am deeply committed to making a positive impact on our community through this position,” said Arrington. “I am excited about the chance to contribute to the ongoing progress of our County, and I look forward to working with our Board to keep Osceola on the path to prosperity.”
