Recently the Clermont Police Department was awarded the Safety Excellence Award from the Florida Municipal Insurance Trust. This is a voluntary safety accreditation program that recognizes and rewards FMIT members for their safety management processes. The Florida Municipal Insurance Trust (FMIT) is administrated by the Florida League of Cities (FLC) and this process helps to provide departments with benchmarks on optimal safety practices.
