On March 21, 2025, at 1:00 a.m., team HCSO patrol deputies and our Aviation Section responded to an auto theft in Wimauma.
Aviation tracked the stolen vehicle until it stopped on Sunburst Lake Street, where the driver and passenger abandoned the vehicle and walked away. When deputies attempted to approach them, they took off running. After a brief foot pursuit, both were taken into custody.
“Let me be clear. If you steal from someone in this community, we will find you, and we will hold you accountable,” said Sheriff Chad Chronister. “Theft is not just a property crime; it’s a violation of someone’s sense of security.
