PCSO deputies were called to a Davenport apartment after a person hit another person with a dustpan.
Deputies made contact with the victim to find out what happened, and while speaking with him, the suspect’s grandfather, identified as David, intervened and tried to convince the victim not to cooperate with the deputies.
Deputies told David to back up and stop interfering.
David did not back up nor did he stop interfering. Instead he said, “I’m from Chicago; I’m not afraid to (profane Chicago word)-up a cop!” He also said that he wasn’t afraid, because he had bond money. Then David from Chicago slapped the arm of a deputy.
Good thing David from Chicago had bond money, because the deputies arrested him right then.
David the Chicagoan was taken on a chauffeured tour of Polk County between Davenport and the Sheriff’s Processing Center. He was then put up in deluxe accommodations at Grady Judd’s Bed & Breakfast.
David the Chicagoan was charged with: battery on a law enforcement officer, tampering with a victim, resisting with violence, resisting without violence, and threatening a law enforcement officer with injury.
