The Lake-Sumter State College (LSSC) Foundation, Inc. and the athletics department hosted the 25th LSSC Golf Classic on Friday, September 13th at Harbor Hills Country Club.
The money raised from this annual event helps to provide scholarships to Lakahawk student-athletes. These scholarships are based upon financial need, scholastic aptitude, and athletic excellence.
Interim Athletic Director, Jay Miller shared his thought’s about this year’s golf tournament, “I cannot say enough about the people who came out to support our student-athletes at the golf outing this year.”
“To set a new record of money raised is simply incredible. Thank you to everyone who paid it forward to help impact our student-athletes,” said Coach Miller.
We would like to thank our presenting sponsors, Marian S. Shuck Scholarship Trust, Ruth and Roy Ryan Foundation, Inc., and Earl B. Sophia Shaw Charitable Trust, and a special thank you to Mrs. Karen Bent, a trustee, for her donation of $50,000 for Athletics Scholarships to the LSSC Foundation, Inc.
