K9 Jim was an 8 year old German Sheperd, who bravely served the Lake County Sheriff’s Office for 7 years along side his handler and best friend, Cpl Jonathan Semento.
K9 Jim was trained in criminal apprehension, obedience, tracking, building and area searches, and narcotic searches. K9 Jim was responsible for 91 apprehensions, locating 1,048 grams of illegal narcotics and seizing approximately $30,000 in cash.
In 2022, K9 Jim and Cpl Semento received the Hometown Heroes Award for their hard work and dedication. K9 Jim will always be remembered for his eagerness to please and intense work drive.
