On Tuesday, December 17, detectives with the Lake County Sheriff’s Office’s Special Investigations Bureau executed a search warrant at Icons, an establishment located at 14942 Old US Highway 441 in Tavares. As a result of the six-week investigation that began after numerous complaints were received, Icons was identified as an illegal gambling establishment. Detectives executed the search warrant, at which time they seized approximately 125 illegal gambling machines and confiscated approximately $48,200 in currency from the business. Three individuals were charged during this investigation and issued misdemeanor summons to appear in court for keeping or maintaining an illegal gambling house (F.S. 849.01).
