Osceola County, Florida – The Osceola County Board of County Commissioners has approved the acquisition of approximately 323 acres from D.R. Horton Incorporated for the construction of the Cross Prairie Parkway, a key infrastructure project that will serve both transportation and stormwater management needs. The properties will provide essential right-of-way for the project.
The $17.3 million land acquisition is part of the County’s commitment to ensuring the successful development of the Cross Prairie Parkway, significantly improving regional mobility. It’s also expected to stimulate industrial growth in District 4. With improved access and connectivity, the area is aimed to attract new industries, affirming the County’s position as an emerging hub for business investment.
“This purchase is a crucial step in improving our infrastructure and fostering economic growth,” said Board of County Commissioners Chairwoman Viviana Janer. “The Cross Prairie Parkway will enhance transportation, attract new businesses, and create jobs, strengthening our local economy.”
