Suspect Caught With Stolen IDs After Foot Chase In Davenport

A burglary-in-progress was reported one afternoon in the Four Corners area of Davenport.

Two PCSO deputies arrived on scene very quickly (it was literally around the corner from the PCSO Northeast District Office).

The suspect, a man named Jay, took off running, and the deputies ran after him, as was their wont.

Jay tried to conceal himself in the nearby woods, but the deputies found him and put the old habeus grabus on him.

Jay told detectives that he had permission from a friend to go into the apartment that he had burgled, although Jay did not know his friend’s name. Also, Jay admitted to knowing that his nameless friend wasn’t authorized to give him permission to enter.

In Jay’s backpack were four Social Security Cards, one credit card, and one driver’s license…none of which belonged to him. And he didn’t have permission to have any of those either.

Jay ended up going to Grady Judd’s Bed & Breakfast…we gave him permission. In fact, we insisted. Heck, we even drove him there.

He was charged with burglary, unlawful possession of identification cards, petit theft, and resisting.
