Lake County deputy was conducting proactive patrol in the area of State Road 46, Sorrento. The deputy initiated a traffic stop after the deputy observed the driver commit a traffic infraction. As the vehicle pulled over, the deputy observed the passenger throw something out of the window. Deputies retrieved the item and determined it to be a cigarette box that held multiple syringes and multiple baggies that contained a white powdery substance that field tested positive for cocaine. The passenger, identified as Jason Baisden, was secured and transported to the Lake County Jail. While at the jail, deputies located an additional baggie of cocaine in his shoe. Baisden was charged accordingly to include felony introduction of contraband into the facility.
